How is the Snowbell Score worked out?+

The score runs from 0 to 100. Half of it is snow: fresh snowfall over the last few days and how much is on the ground. The rest is wind (20%), temperature (15%) and visibility (15%). With less than 5cm of snow on the ground the score is 0, thin cover keeps it low, and very strong wind or a dry spell caps it. Tap “How is this calculated?” on any resort to see the breakdown.

Where does the weather data come from?+

Forecasts come from Open-Meteo, which combines national weather models, at each resort’s own altitude. Snow depths are modelled, not reported by the resort, and conditions on the mountain can differ. Always check the resort’s own reports and the local avalanche bulletin before heading out.

What does Snowbell Pro include?+

The 14-day forecast with a confidence rating for each day, base, mid and top scores, powder alerts and the Thursday weekend pick, the trip planner, the best day finder, unlimited favourites and the full Where’s the snow? rankings. These features arrive with iPhone version 1.2 after Apple approval. UK plans are £3.49 monthly (no trial) or £19.99 annually (a two-week trial for eligible customers only). The separate £2.99 Trip Pass gives 14 days of paid access without renewal. Confirm availability, price and eligibility in the App Store. Android products are not yet available.

How do I cancel or restore a subscription?+

On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Android is still in preparation. To restore Pro on a new phone, open Snowbell › Settings › Restore Purchases, using the same Apple ID. A consumed Android Trip Pass will not be restorable through Google Play alone; Android access details will be confirmed before release.

Why am I not getting powder alerts?+

Check that alerts are on in Snowbell › Settings, that notifications are allowed for Snowbell in your phone’s settings, and that your resorts are in your favourites. Alerts go out in the afternoon when tomorrow’s forecast passes your threshold (10, 20 or 30cm).

My resort is missing+

Snowbell searches more than 1,800 resorts; its global rankings cover 400. If yours is missing, email us its name and country and we will add it.

Do I need an account?+

No sign-in is required. Favourites are stored on your phone; enabling alerts sends resort preferences and a push token to our server. See the privacy policy.
